Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need experience to join Naach?

A: We welcome all dancers! Our troupe comprises of professionally trained dancers and aspiring dancers with no technical background. All you need is the motivation and dedication to learn and improve. 


Q: What are the membership fees like?

A: Our membership fee for a semester is $50 and it allows dancers to be a part of our performances and shows and also gives access to all our tech classes within the semester.   


Q: How often are the practice sessions?

A: During off-show season, we have weekly technique classes to build on our foundation. Usually we have these classes in-person on the NUS campus. 

During production/showcase season, practices vary depending on the pieces you are a part of. Each piece will have at least one practice per week; there will also be additional self-practices, depending on the piece closer to the show date. We will also have dress rehearsals 2-3 days before the show date which will be mandatory for all dancers and communicated in advance.


Q: What kind of styles do you usually learn/ perform?

A: We learn a wide range of styles and some of the genres that we have performed include hip-hop, contemporary, burlesque, folk, bollywood, jazz, ballroom and broadway.

Q: Who conducts technique classes?

A: Most of our classes will be conducted by our resident choreographer, Akash Abishek. He will also be the one to choreograph and lead us in our shows. Certain technical classes will be conducted by our dance captains as well.

Payment and Refund Policy

Q: When should payment for the class be made by?
A: All payment should be made within 24 hours of receiving the payment information. Payment information will be sent after you have signed up. 

Q: Will I be refunded if I do not attend a tech class after making payment?
A: You will be refunded in the form of class credits if you cancel 48 hours before the class or with a valid reason (valid reasons include injuries and other medical reasons only). All other cancellations will not be refunded.
